Ratings: Betty White-colored Wins the Evening!

Betty White-colored Four words: The indomitable Betty White-colored.Facing the ballyhooed (but tepidly examined) debut of Fox's Alcatraz as well as the strong CBS Monday choice of comedies, NBC's 90-minute tribute/special marking the in Cleveland star's 90th birthday attracted most likely probably the most prime-time audiences, according to Nielsen overnight data. So when that wasn't enough, the second-most seen show was the sneak look of Off Their Rockers, White's new senior-people-prank-youthful-folk series. At 9:30/8:30c, it outpaced everything, like the redoubtable Mike & Molly - though not inside the important 18-to-49-year-old demo. And for something different, two and a half Males wasn't the night's finest program. The amounts for Alcatraz were ten percent a lot better than the two-hour premiere of Terra Nova and handled to find the network's most effective dramatic series debut since Mislead Me three years ago. 'Porgy' will get an unlikely Spike

Suzan-Lori Parks together with her Bess, Audra McDonald A debate fomented by Stephen Sondheim could not stop "The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess" from opening on Broadway. Reviews the following day were all around the map, but Thursday's opening evening crowd in the Richard Rodgers Theater gave it a hearty thumbs-up. Which includes some aud people who're infamously demanding.Consider Spike Lee, among the well-wishers to congratulate scribe Suzan-Lori Parks, who authored the show's new book."Spike wants it!Inch she cried happily soon after their intermission tete-a-tete. "I authored a movie for him" -- that'd function as the 1996 pic "Girl 6" -- "and that he never just states he wants it!Inch
