Leah Remini Confirms Exit From The Talk

Leah Remini today broke her silence about her pending departure from the CBS’ daytime talk show The Talk. It’s official: I am sorry to say that I have NOT been asked back on the show, Remini wrote on Twitter. As we first reported, CBS was not picking up the options of Remini and fellow co-host Holly Robinson Peete. CBS has already moved on to tap comedian/conservative radio host Sheryl Underwood as a new co-host and Kris Jenner as a guest co-host, who will fill in for Sharon Osbourne when she takes time off this fall. Remini went on to say that no reason was given for her ouster and addressed fellow co-host Robinson Peete who she said hasnt heard anything yet, something Robinson Peete herself confirmed on Twitter. Holly, I have LOVED working with you, she wrote. You are the real deal Hang in there. There had been a lot of speculation about behind-the-scenes tension at the daytime talk show, which had a very strong July ratings-wise, especially when it comes to Remini, Robinson Peete and Osbourne’s interactions with co-host Julie Chen. Remini hinted at potential problems when she tweeted, “I would work with Holly and Mrs. O any day,” leaving out Chen as well as the show’s creator/co-host Sara Gilbert.

Relativity Media Launches Strategic Partnership in China

Relativity Media is joining with China's Huaxia Film Distribution Co. and SkyLand (Beijing) Film-Television Culture Development to launch a strategic partnership to promote U.S.-Chinese coproductions.our editor recommendsChina Online Video Company Tudou.com Prepares for IPO The three companies, along with SAIF Partners, an Asian private equity firm, and IDG China Media, the China-focused investment arm of Boston's International Data Group, are also creating what is billed as the first China/U.S. distribution company, SkyLand Entertainment. Relativity, SAIF and IDG China plan to develop, produce, acquire and distribute Chinese material with worldwide appeal. Relativity will distribute all of its future films in China, including Immortals, Haywire, Act of Valor, its Untitled Snow White Project, and The Raven, through SkyLand. These films will still be subject to China's annual quota of 20 foreign films distributed on a revenue-sharing basis. Distribution will still technically be through Huaxia, which, along with China Film Group, is one of only two state-run companies authorized to import and distribute foreign films. SkyLand, a fully-funded, vertically-integrated film and multimedia production, distribution and financing company, which was jointly owned and controlled by SAIF Partners and IDG China Media, is now also owned by Relativity. SkyLand is also partnered with a China-based renminbi fund to co-invest in local film and television content and production, with a budget equivalent to $100 million. SkyLand has functioned as SAIF and IDG's entertainment arm, and most-recently co-produced Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, inspired by the novel by Lisa See, directed by Wayne Wang, which was released stateside by Fox Searchlight. "China is the fastest-growing film market in the world, with over 6,000 screens and over $1.5 billion in box office revenue last year, an increase of over 60% last year alone. We're excited to be entering into this booming market with such great partners in SAIF, IDG and our new strategic partnership with Huaxia. Given the substantial platform created by SAIF and IDG in SkyLand, we believe together we can grow a distribution business in China which brings global product to China, and brings Chinese product to the global market," Relativity founder and CEO Ryan Kavanaugh said. Kavanaugh, Huaxia Film's executive chairman Guoqin Gu, SAIF Partners' managing partner Andy Yan and IDG China Media's founding partner Hugo Shong announced the initiatives Monday at a press conference in Beijing. "This partnership will broaden the cooperation platform introducing significant resource for the co-production of future movies while allowing us to build on valuable movie production experiences from overseas. Meanwhile, such partnership will also open the channels for Chinese movies to air globally and offer international audiences a better understanding of Chinese culture," Gu said. Megan Fox 'Is Hilarious' In 'Knocked Up' Spin-Off, Says Leslie Mann

We don't know too much about Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up" spin-off movie project, other than the fact that it centers around lovable/slightly dysfunctional couple Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann), a few years after the events that occur in the Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen pregnancy comedy. Also, if we know one thing about Apatow comedies, it is more than likely that a slew of famous faces will appear in the film, be it in a supporting or cameo role. Apatow has been cagey about revealing any more casting or cameo details, but one interesting addition that was actually announced back in March is Megan Fox, and although we don't yet know who she plays in the film, star Leslie Mann assured us that she is a welcome addition to the cast. "Megan Fox is so funny," she told us Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere of "The Change-Up." "She's hilarious. You wouldn't, I don't know if other people [expect it], but I think she's really funny, you'll be pleasantly surprised." So who does she play in the film? "I can't say that part," she said with a smile, backing up her husband's comments earlier this year regarding spoilers. "The rest is a secret because it doesn't come out until 2012 and if you already knew what it was about for a year and a half, you wouldn't even want to see it," he told us. "There will be people who are really interesting in the movie," he teased. "And some familiar people who are in the movie." Are you excited to see Megan Fox's comedic chops? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter!
