Exclusive: America's Got Talent Host Nick Cannon Joins NBC's Up Through The Night
Nick Cannon America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon has became a member of the cast of some other NBC series, the brand new Wednesday evening comedy Up Through The Night, inside a recurring role. Cannon will have Calvin, the extremely popular co-host to speak show star Ava (Maya Rudolph), who can't help but be jealous from the attention her energetic partner receives. Also joining the show is Jennifer Hall (Puppy nip/Tuck), who'll play Missy, Ava's insecure (and less than respected) assistant. The brand new gig gives Cannon two NBC income. He'll continue because the host of AGT even while Up Through The Night begins tape. Coincidentally (or otherwise), NBC uses the growing season finale of AGT on September 14 to produce Up Through The Night immediately after, inside a special one-time only 10 p.m. time slot. (The show moves to its regular 8 p.m. period of time the next week.) Cannon's other credits range from the movies Drumline and Love Don't Cost you a Factor. Hall's other credits include HBO's Unscripted, in addition to guest spots on CSI: Miami and Castle. The additions of Cannon and Hall to Up Through The Night came after NBC and also the show's producers made the decision to change the comedy's place of work setting from the pr firm towards the group of a TV talk show. The comedy stars Christina Applegate as Ava's producer, and focuses on her role like a recently minted working mother. Will Arnett plays her husband. Sign up for TV Guide Magazine now!
